Thibaut Courtois is a Belgian professional footballer who currently plays as a goalkeeper for the Spanish club Real Madrid and the Belgium national team. Born in May 1992, Courtois began his career at Genk, where he made his professional debut in 2009. He won the Belgian league title in 2011, and the Genk Golden Shoe award as the best goalkeeper in the Belgian league the same year. He conceded 32 goals over the course of 40 league matches and kept 14 clean sheets for Genk. Courtois then signed with Chelsea in 2011 and won the Premier League title in 2015 and 2017.
In 2018, Courtois joined Real Madrid, and he won the La Liga title in 2019. Courtois has also enjoyed success on the international stage with the Belgium national team.
At 6 feet 7 inches (2 meters) tall, Courtois is one of the tallest goalkeepers in the world.
